Large Jute & Cotton Rope Wall Sculpture

Raw, rhythmic, and full of texture. This large-scale piece begins with a thick ring of hand-coiled, twisted jute rope, cinched in two places with bands of soft natural cotton. From it falls a cascade of heavy jute ropes, each wrapped by hand in staggered blocks of pale cotton, so the warm tan and creamy white shift and alternate as your eye travels down.

At the ends, the ropes are left to unravel into loose, wispy jute fringe, a soft, untamed finish that contrasts with the tight wrapping above. The result feels both organic and carefully composed, like something weathered by the sea and then made beautiful.

At 37 inches long, it’s a true statement piece. Let it fill a tall wall, an entryway, a stairwell, or the space above a bed or console, where its depth and texture can be appreciated up close.

Every rope is coiled, wrapped, and finished by hand, so no two pieces are exactly alike. Small variations in fiber and finish are part of its character.

Care
Hang away from humid spaces and prolonged direct sun. Dust with a soft, dry brush or a hairdryer on the cool setting, and gently finger-comb the fringe if it tangles. Jute may shed a few natural fibers, especially at first.
